This is an interesting news article that I came across:
From the grave, Albert Einstein poured gasoline on the culture wars between science and religion this week.
A letter the physicist wrote in 1954 to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, in which he described the Bible as “pretty childish” and scoffed at the notion that the Jews could be a “chosen people,” sold for $404,000 at an auction in London. That was 25 times the presale estimate.
No, I am not interested in the letter. I am more interested in what this brilliant man has to say about God. Unfortunately he never knew about Islam, had he known about it he would have become a Muslim I am sure. Because while the Bible may be viewed as a fictional historical piece of writing with little or no spiritual value, the Qur’an is in toto God’s Revelation verbatim. No one has thus far made any real challenge to deny that either.

In roughly 48 hours’ time, I will be off to Penang, visiting my home state at long last after being away for so long from it is certainly surreal. And I am bringing her along as well. The last time I was in Penang was in last September, but I didn’t really visit all those old and familiar places that I wanted to go. How could I ever forget Komtar? Or seeing those second-hand books at Chowrasta? Or remember the time when I watched my first movie at Cathay Jalan Penang (now turned into a…of all things, a Mydin store)?
Selangor may be where I am staying now but Penang is where my heart truly is.

I am blogging about this on the occasion of “Blog About Palestine Day”, in response to the call made by Tok Mudin and reaffirming my solidarity with the Palestinian cause and Palestinians in general. Indeed, I am not alien to the issue of Islam and the Problem of Israel (here is one example on how attuned I am to the Palestinian cause) because to me, the solution is universal: to regain the dignity of a people who were expelled from their lands at the expense of others. It is a struggle reminiscent of the days when the British wanted to impose a “Malayan Union” on (then known as) Malaya at the expense of its native population. There was no such thing as an “Israel” before the An-Nakba of 1948 and certainly “Israel” have no right to exist, as they are a modern European invention consisting of people who were immigrants from Europe.

Hasbullah Pit made an interesting suggestion about outlawing sex out of wedlock at civil law level and I find the proposition workable. Some lout made the totally moronic argument that “[G]ua mau kongek, gua mia hal lah” which I find logically unsound, because if you want that so badly why not just find a wife and get married?

I just came across this interesting blog Self-Reflection and this message is addressed to the brother behind it. It seems that you are in an “entanglement” (an understatement, perhaps!) with a Christian Iban lady who is currently residing in the US. I couldn’t find your contact details but I know that you have visited my blog since I saw that all-famous phrase: “half-naked man swinging from a cross” which only I have the balls to say it so far.
Ha ha. Don’t worry brother, its not copyrighted.
