Critical Thoughts

I would like to take the opportunity to wish all Muslims a very joyous Eid Mubarak! on occassion of Eid-al-Fitri, 1st of Shawwal which falls tomorrow. Unlike previous years where I would usually travel back to Johore and spend the festival days in Muar and Batu Pahat, this year I will be stuck in the Klang Valley. There is no kampung for me to go back to since my beloved grandmother had passed away a few months’ back and so I will just be spending this Eid at home.

No updates from me for the next few days however, in commemoration of this occassion.

I checked my Google Adsense statistics today and was pleasantly surprised by the results. Not too long ago, a former employer derided the effort I put into the site by saying that it is nothing more than a “hobby”. I wish I could show the results that I’ve been getting from the site as of late and see the look on her face.

Now who says da’wah does not pay? Of course this means that I would need to update that site more often, but that is another story.

As I see how things are playing out, I think it would just be a matter of time before Najib Razak is declared to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and definitely it would be before 2010. I am not sure whether I am too comfortable with the idea, though, due to the alleged murder links and there is also the issue of his religious convictions.

I certainly do not want a Hindu as my Prime Minister. But let us see how this plays out, too early to tell at the moment.

I have to admit that the summary is straight on the mark and summarises what those Bible-thumpers really believe. I am amazed that I didn’t come up with the term myself. The best I could muster was “half-naked man religion”.

Now we have a new label for it: Jewish zombie religion!

I find it an irony that such bus campaigns are allowed in — of all places! — Chicago, US of A. I doubt such a advert slapped on a RapidKL could take off here in Islam terHad pada Hari-hari tertentu Malaysia…JAKIM will probably receive all kinds of flak from the Islam Liberals and the Islamophobes combined. I can think of a few organisations that will oppose such a move here. But I will officially make it my lifelong ambition to see such an advert promoting Bismika Allahuma to appear on a RapidKL bus one day.
