Avril Lavigne concert, a Merdeka event?
This has to be one of the most silliest ideas ever promulgated by the Barisan Nasional government…to taint the Merdeka eve celebrations with the introduction of Western values and culture, contrary to the Malaysian spirit of struggle against those very same influences 51 years ago. I simply do not understand the “logic” behind this. It defies basic common sense and makes mockery of the religious values that we have practised in this country for so long.
DPPWP issued a media statement on the issue and are working towards stopping this event from taking place and tainting our history.

WAD? Avril Lavigne’s concert is Merdeka event? so ridiculous.. The event itself wont serve its pratriotic purpose ady.. Ppl go there for Avril instead.

I don’t get it – why is it a Merdeka event?
Is it because it’s happening on the Friday evening before Merdeka Sunday?
Or is it because it’s being held at Stadium Merdeka?
And if it is so, does that mean Avril is an honorary Malaysian now, and we can get her to include songs like Setia and Putera Puteri in her playlist?
