Life goes on as normal
As far as I am concerned, life goes on as normal. Bloggers being sued or not, I will continue to speak my mind. I’ve already taken measures to not reveal critical personal information. Oh yes, I have my full name floating on the web…but how many of you actually know me by that or address me by my full name? Seriously.
Of course if you search in Google I’ll bet you can find it, but that is not the point.
I beg to disagree with this blogger who says that we need to be careful about what we say. With all due respect to her, I think most of the bloggers who think like this are noobs, they only come into the World Wide Web phenomenon in the early 2000. Me, I’ve been around ever since the Geocities era. My first website was hosted on Xoom.Com (I doubt many would remember, since Xoom.Com was eventually bought over by NBCi and their free web service was ended). My first domain name was this one, and still going strong after six years of operation, alhamdulillah. We had a recent hiccup but still going strong. I could have jumped onto the blogging bandwagon earlier but I was such an idiot that I did not realise the power of blogging until 2003, and only seriously after 2004.
Anyway, what I want to say here is that if you write for the passion of it and see blogging as a social responsibility (for me its a jihad, a religious obligation), then you have nothing to fear. By theory and sometimes in practice, the internet was supposed to exist in a legal vacuum (despite what Jeff wants to tell you 
). Things may not be so ideal for the Net these days but as long as I believe in what I am struggling for, I am not going to stop. And life will go on as normal.
And I think non socio-political/religious blogs have nothing to worry from NST.
