Mahafiraun flip-flops

When Tun Abdullah Badawi was the Prime Minister, this vindicative old man was making nasty remarks about his premiership at every juncture. He was even a strong critic of the illegal Perak state government takeover by the Barisan Nasional in February. So why am I not surprised that he changed his tune after he rejoined UMNO?
“It (the BN state government) is now a matter of fact, so it must be supported unless they can prove that it is legally wrong. But at the moment, it seems the government is accepted by the people,” Dr Mahathir told reporters.
However, at a function on 14 March, he had said the BN’s 5 Feb takeover of Perak was not in accordance with the law. He had argued then that a menteri besar or a prime minister could not be removed without a no-confidence vote in the assembly.
Asked why he held a different view today, Dr Mahathir said, “I am not a judge, but I can give an opinion. Maybe I am wrong. It all depends on the judge.”
Totally in stark contrast to what he said a few weeks ago. But whether he returns to UMNO or otherwise matters little to me. UMNO is a secular party that promotes this un-Islamic ideology and it must be fought against and purged from the Muslim ummah in Malaysia. Nothing will ever change that.
