  • On Sudan, school teachers and teddy bears named Muhammad

I had refrained from commenting on the issue of the ignorant Christian teacher who encouraged her students to call a teddy bear by the name of “Muhammad” (an obvious reference to You-Know-Who) and the Sudanese Muslim reaction to it. In the circumstances, I certainly cannot fault them for being offended, although I disagree with some of the more extreme elements within the community calling for an execution.

A fine for the insult and expulsion from the country is just punishment in my opinion. For a more detailed legal exposition, see Apostasy and Blasphemy in Islam by Syed Mumtaz Ali.

But this liberal murtadd by the name of Jeffrey Hardy Quah (who, by the way, is kilometres away from Sudan in Australia and thus has no inkling of the real issues in the Sudan) has been pinging PPS with his nonsense, like this one for example. So its time for me to say something in defense of the Sudan and the Muslim community, whom I have always had a high regard for.

For whatever evil thing you may say about them, you liberal murtadd, the Sudanese Muslims are certainly way more religious and pious than you are and certainly they have made their point that they will not stand it if the Prophet Muhammad, salla allahu alayhi wassallam, were to be insulted by an ignorant Christian school teacher who should have known better than to mock something so sacred to the community.

If someone were to piss on a symbol of Islam in front of you, you can bet your horses that you will not even bat an eyelid. In fact I daresay you would encourage it in the name of liberalism and free speech!

    2. What about the boy named Muhammad who wanted the bear to be named Muhammad? Maybe he should be fined and punished.

Heck, what about all those guys named Muhammad? Should they also be fined for taking the name of a great man to be used by mere commoners? Actually that'll be a great way for religious authorities to increase their revenue.

Please pay your fine at your nearest JAIS office. Thank you!

[MENJ: Now where does this story of a "boy" comes into the picture? The reference was to the Prophet (P), this has been established. Perhaps I should name my pet pig "Paul of Tarsus", now that will probably jolt some sense into you. After all, there are so many people named "Paul"....]

      Ahem…

      From http://www.timesonline.co.uk/t.....ric…
"She had asked the children to pick their favourite name for the new class mascot, which she was using to aid lessons about animals and their habitats. In a class vote, the pupils rejected her own suggestion of “Faris”, with 20 out of 23 deciding to call the cuddly toy Muhammad — also the name of one of the class’s most popular boys."

Democracy in action too! 20 of 23 is a majority even BN dreams about!

I won't give a damn if you name your pet pig 'Paul'. Anyway, pigs have already been named "Paul", "Peter", "Bjorn", and "John", etc. etc. etc. without incident. Why do you want to have a pet pig firstplace? :p

      My response,

Firstly in this issue, an animal which is a bear is being call upon a famous muslim name which is happen to be Muhammad so its not the same as naming a person. Its not an issue in the muslim world to name your child Muhammad but to name an animal after the prophet's name is, but specificly on this issue the intent is what is in question here.

Do you have any proof of the Malaysian Islamic authorities acting as what you claim in the above ? if you do plz enlighten me and if not shut the fuck up.

Did Gilian gibbons actually intended to insult our prophet ? The truth could only be known by Gilian true intention (niat) and Allah (who could see through the hearts of mankind). But most important she has apologize and have made public statement that she did not intend to humilate the prophet(according to western sources). The Sudanese government has pardon her and she is now safely back in Liverpool England to celebrate Christmas with her family. I fully agree with President Omar Al bashir's move to pardon her(despite guilty or not)and sent Gilian back to England unharmed although she was imprison for 8 days.

(which in my opinion was indirectly safer for her)

Never the less this event is an eye opener to muslims for us to draw the line on when or which aspect of an act or statement do we consider offensive to our beloved prophet. As a true muslim I do not want the enemies of Islam to use so call liberalism, art or freedom to mask their true evil intention to humilate the prophet and but neither do I which to see muslim commit acts of intolerance in defending the prophet.

Most of the stories we hear are from western journalist, i would still like the story from the Sudanese side and why did they find Gilian Guilty.
