In Syriah Law, the living stand to inherit nothing from the dead Muslim spouse or kin. It seems to me the eldest son (is a Muslim) fabricated the story in order to be the sole heir of the deadman’s property. And no, this “infidels” are not making a fuss out of nothing. It is a BIG thing here. To think that a family receives nothing from their departed ones, the house, money and car, I’ll call this robbery. The eldest son or Baitulmal have no right to take everything from a family. This is plain sheer injustice.

If the father is a Muslim and the next of kin is not, wealth is still inherited to the next of kin REGARDLESS whether the father is Muslim or otherwise, unless it was SPECIFIED otherwise. Since from this specific incident this was not the case, I do not believe that this has anything to do with wealth-possessing. The eldest son has nothing to gain from stating that his father was a Muslim or otherwise.]

Also, as a non-Muslim we do not appreciate it when zealots from your religions governing body press their values on us. You would not like the same thing happened to you as well Im sure.

It is plain to me that when you, I quote “Hardly bothers me, it is just infidels making a fuss out of nothing.”, dismiss the grieving family making fuss you did not even try to understand their grievances.

[MENJ: And I stand by it. The body certainly is not going to be burned into an incinerator, there is nothing to "grieve" about. If they have grievances, do it in the proper way by facing the courts who are the sole arbitrator in the matter.]

Before anyone would accuse me of being islamophobic, let me tell you that I have Muslim friends. They are my friends because they respect my beliefs and did not seek to press their religious values upon me. If they do, they wont be my friends.

I always believe that Muslims and non-Muslims can co-exist peacefully together. The problems would start when Muslims would start to impose their religious values upon others.

To subject others under Syriah Law is forcibly imposing your religious values. In this way, Muslims drove others to resent or hate Islam.

[MENJ: That is the crux of the matter, you think Shariah law is "unjust" when all that was done was to take the case before the court to determine whether the father was really a Muslim. It is certainly clear that you are an ISLAMOPHOBE, period.]
