Is it just me or is there a current rush for politicians, especially those from Barisan Nasional/UMNO, to embrace blogging as part of their new “occupation”? Latest to join the bandwagon is The Man With Two “Muhammad”s in His Name. Its not an unhealthy development, but it disturbs me, nonetheless. After all, think about it: if everyone is going to rush into making his/her own blog, soon each and every single individual in Malaysia is going to have a blog and the word “blogger” suddenly loses any real meaning.

Why do I suddenly feel like a celebrity all of a sudden?

Kementerian Penerangan akan mewujudkan satu segmen khas berita setiap Ahad bagi membolehkan penulis blog atau ‘bloggers’ memberikan pendapat mengenai pelbagai isu secara langsung menerusi televisyen.

Menterinya, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, berkata program itu selama 20 minit itu akan bermula 20 April ini akan disiarkan di RTM 1 sebagai salah satu segmen dalam Warta Perdana.

Beliau berkata, keputusan berkenaan bukan saja memberi ruang kepada golongan itu meluahkan pandangan masing-masing, bahkan turut membuktikan keterbukaan kerajaan dalam berurusan dengan media alternatif.

All I can say is…wow, more popular than payday advance it seems. They sure are taking bloggers and blogging seriously now, that is for sure. I am not sure whether I want to appear live on national TV, though: I blog for a reason and not to seek fame or popularity.

Looks like DSAI is not the coward as some DAP fanatics and snipers try to make him out to be:

Ketua Umum KeADILan, Anwar Ibrahim mengarahkan peguamnya memfailkan tuntutan undang-undang terhadap Timbalan Ketua Pemuda Umno, Khairy Jamaluddin, dan Dr Chandra Muzaffar berhubung kenyataan fitnah dua individu berkenaan baru-baru ini.

Selain dari tuntuan memohon maaf secara terbuka, Anwar Ibrahim juga memfailkan saman RM10 juta setiap satu kerana tindakan mereka mencemar maruah beliau dengan tuduhan berniat jahat.

Bercakap kepada wartawan, peguam Sankara Nair berkata pihaknya telah menghantar surat tuntutan itu kepada Khairy dan Chandra pada 4 Mac lalu, meminta mereka menarik balik tuduhan mereka dan memastikan tabiat buruk itu tidak diulangi lagi dimasa hadapan.

I am astounded…truly astounded, that this person can actually get away with saying something like this:

Mr Zainuddin [Maidin, Malaysian Information Minister] insisted that while the younger generation are tech-savvy, they tend to believe newspaper reports over comments made on the Internet, China Press reported.

He added that the Internet is used mainly to book budget airline tickets or to get entertainment news.

What??!! I earn my RM2K+ a month from doing this?
