KLAB 2008

May 4th, 2008

I was at KLAB (Kuala Lumpur Alternative Bookfair) 2008 at the Annex, Central Market. When I came in, I had RM200 with me and when I finally exited, I am left with RM50 and had to carry a bagful of books. Sigh, why is it that each time that there are books around, I end up spending more than I should?

Truth be told, KLAB was nowhere close to the recent International Book Fair 2008 at PWTC, but it was an interesting affair regardless. I bought two books from the liberal Islam thought (which I intend to dissect and refute), another two three more which are pro-Islam, and I managed to get myself a yellow BERSIH T-Shirt. I guess the loot was worth it. Will take pictures of it later You can see it above.

Going to the International Book Fair

April 5th, 2008

I will be going to the International Book Fair 2008. My estimated budget for the books that I wish to buy and bring back home is around RM1K. And guess what, I do not even have to rely on a cash advance in order to use that money, hah! Anyway, I will focus on getting some titles which are related to Comparative Religion or Contemporary Politics. Maybe some history books will be good, too. It depends on what they have available at the Fair, I guess. By the looks of it, however, I think I can expect to find what I want to look for.

Hence the RM1K budget.

Realisation

November 18th, 2007

Before I started arranging the books on my bookshelf, I never did realise how many Bibles and Bible textual criticism books I really do have in my possession. I still don’t have in my possession some titles that I have been searching for some time, but on the whole I think I am quite satisfied with what I have. I most certainly can daresay that I probably own the most extensive collection of material related to Comparative Religion and Islamics in the area of BTHO.

Before and after shelving

November 18th, 2007

Few days ago, my parents bought a new bookshelf and CD rack made out of oak wood for my room which was overflowing with books. Literally. In fact the best illustration of the situation would be to see the photos for yourself.
