Oh yeah, the ridiculous PPSMI policy (abbreviation of “Teaching of Science and Mathematics in English”) is finally abolished. The only catch is that it will only be discontinued in 2012….but I guess that is nothing compared to the destruction that this policy could do if it remains in force.
I am overjoyed (and that is probably an understatement) at the news. It doesn’t mean that I will support BN because of this, but finally someone up there got some sense knocked into his head. I have always maintained in the past and until today that to improve one’s command of English, the only way to do so is to encourage reading and a mass overhaul of that dreadful English syllabus that I went through in KBSR and KBSM.
Anyway, to celebrate this momentous occassion, I am off to do the moonwalk. Watch me!

I have always held right from the start that the excuse given by the Government saying that one’s command of English will be improved by teaching Science and Mathematics in that language is nothing more than bish-bosh and bullcrap. I was educated in the national system where Bahasa Melayu was used as the medium of instruction for Science and Mathematics, do you see my English being seriously affected or marred in any way? On the contrary, I read a lot of English books during my formative years at school and this “habit” continues until today. I attribute to this as a major reason why I have a very strong command of English. Certainly, this is one of the more viable ways for one to improve his/her standard of English, and not by shoving Science and Mathematical terms in English into one’s throat.
After having watched this video, I swear that by Allah, from this point onwards I will never call myself a “Malay” and I will proudly proclaim that I am a Javanese by birth and by race.
The English is truly atrocious, thank God I have a better command of English than this so-called “student leader”! Truly I do not know where should I show my “water face”. In fact, “Malay” is not even an Arabic word!
And as for the silly suggestion that “Meem” stands for “Malay”, how about trying MARA instead?
Its hilarious when you see some smart-asses who think they can trounce yours truly making asinine comments like this:
I am not an islamophobe or whatever other stupid term you fundies come up with
Frankly I am not bothered with what he thinks, but by this statement, he is implying that:
“Islamophobia” is an invalid term in the English language.
It is a term that “fundies” (does he think that I am an ice-cream?) conjured out of thin air.
Unfortunately for him, the word does exist and it has entered the English lexicon quite recently. Here is the official definition of the term Islamophobia.
