PAS rejects any coalition with UMNO

July 31st, 2008

When I read this news, I breathed a real huge sigh of relief. I was already prepared for the worst should the decision go the other way and PAS, for some strange and bizarre reason, decides to form a pact with the United Melaun National Organisation, or in short U.M.N.O. In fact, I was already contemplating leaving the party should my worst fears be realised and PAS abandons its principles and work with this assabiyyah/secularist/rasuah party.

Pas has rejected any coalition government with Umno or the Barisan Nasional at both state or federal level, party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said today, ending the controversial unity talks with its ideological nemesis that have rocked both the ruling and opposition coalitions.

“The issue of Umno’s offer to Pas therefore does not arise,” Abdul Hadi said after a rare joint meeting between Pas’s central working committee and its highest decision-making body, the Majlis Syura Ulamak (religious scholars consultative council).

Kudos goes to the party leadership for their wise decision on the matter. The time for us is nigh and we are closing on Putrajaya. I can feel it.

Has the DAP really lost its extremist Chinese Chauvinism?

March 17th, 2008

Or can a leopard really drop its spots so easily, simply by coming to power? I, for one, have not forgotten the role that the DAP played in bringing about the riots of 13th May 1969. That aside, one really does wonder what would have happened to this country had the balance of power not been preserved and if the DAP had won all their seats and PKR/PAS were wiped out in the recent general elections. It is most worrying that this indication could be seen in Perak, what with the fuss over the choice of Menteri Besar, songkok-phobia and before the elections, even Jawi-phobia and adhaan-phobia not so long ago.

WTF is PKR thinking now??

March 13th, 2008

We solved one problem, now a new one crops up:

PKR threatens to pull out of Perak gov’t

Just as one fire has been doused in Perak over the appointment of a PAS man as the new mentri besar post, another one is taking place. PKR has today threatened to pull out from the Perak coalition government on hearing that eight of the 10 executive council posts will go to DAP while the remaining two going to other parties.

Oh great, this is really shitty. The BN boys must be laughing at us now. I reiterate the call for all parties to stop being childish and come back to reality!

Ir. Mohamad Nizar is the new MB of Perak

March 12th, 2008

ir_mohamad_nizar.jpg

Thank God that my prayers have been answered:

Pasir Panjang state assemblyperson and Perak PAS secretary Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin was today confirmed as the new menteri besar of the state.

The decision was reached after the Regent of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah met with the three nominees for the post this evening.

The other two candidates for the post were state DAP chairperson and Sitiawan state assemblyperson Ngeh Khoo Ham and PKR’s Behrang assemblyperson Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi.

Also decided today is that Ngeh would be made the deputy menteri besar (1) while an Indian candidate would be made deputy menteri besar (2).

Now that this has been settled, its time to get back to business. The new MB of Perak should ensure that all state assemblymen aligned with the government should not turn their positions into their personal lab equipment like the BN assemblymen did.
