You definitely know that the influence of a certain political party is on the wane after the racial card is used to play up sentiments and usher in support. After all, it worked before in 1969. However, times have changed and something that I would have never thought I would say now is true…Malaysian democracy has matured. Malaysians are beginning to realise that sticking to just one coalition party is not going to help change things and we saw that awareness on March 8th 2008.
As for the chap who is in the news for a racial statement he uttered, well…all I can say is that while that may be true historically, it does not give any credence to the party he represents and has probably worsened it. Perhaps Pakatan should be thanking him because if this goes on, it won’t be long before the party in question is kicked out of power.

Frankly I don’t know who to blame for the loss of sovereignty over Pulau Batu Putih (or is it “Pedra Branca” now?):
- The good-for-nothing Encik Jellyfish currently sleeping in Putrajaya?
- The legal team which represented Malaysia for the claim over Pulau Batu Putih?
Or the idiot who wrote the stupid letter below, dated 21st September 1953, disowning any claim over the island? Read the letter for yourself, I am too disgusted at the moment to say anything else about it.

Lately I find myself addicted to PDF e-books on world military history, and I have been selectively downloading some titles from Osprey related to that. I focus mostly on military history related to the First World War, the Second World War, the Napoleonic Wars and even downloaded stuff related to the Middle East military history such as the Six-Day War as well as the Islamic military history of Yarmuk, the Arab Conquest starting from the first Caliph, and of course not forgetting the Crusades and the campaign of Salah ad-Din al-Ayyubi when he crushed those half-naked man worshippers during the Third Crusades.
Very interesting stuff indeed, I think I am going to spend the rest of the week reading all that material once they have finished downloading.

A Jewish joke. Enough said.

Those ridiculous “propaganda adverts” that I see currently being run on the two government stations about “Demonstrasi Bukan Budaya Kita” (translation: “Demonstrations Are Not Part of Our Culture”) annoy me to no end. The intention of trying to appeal to the fallacy of poisoning the well is clearly propagandistic in nature and has nothing to do with any altruistic intentions. Plus the airing images of the Pakistani protests (although what a South Asian country has to do with a Southeast Asian one sure beats the hell out of me, so maybe that part about “culture” must be correct) is an example of how the mainstream media is being manipulated to twist history according to the interests of their masters in Putrajaya.
