Not a new problem

August 22nd, 2008

Came across this today in Malaysiakini:

New Straits Times and the Star headlined Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s displeasure over the services of KTM Komuter and LRT as both services do not meet expectations of its users. He used the KTM Komuter services from Serdang to KL Sentral where he switched to LRT before disembarking at the Masjid Jamek LRT station.

This is not a new problem. The deplorable state of our public transportation has been going on for years now. I am surprised that he has to actually experience this himself for him to know about it. You don’t have to play football to watch live football matches and its the same when it comes to knowledge about the state of public transportation. Has he not been doing his homework?

“Point made, point taken”

So says the weakest Prime Minister in Malaysian history ever (a.k.a. Encik Jellyfish). But I have no doubt in my mind that come the next general election, he will be kissing his seat in Putrajaya goodbye. What can he do in four years anyway? The damage he has done is irreversible.

We need a new administration, no doubt about it.
