A joyous and blessed new year to all Muslims around the world, on ocassion of the new Hijri calendar year. May the Muslim ummah be preserved and that the cause for a Pax Islamica will never fade, insha’allah.
On my part, I have several Islamic projects in line for this new year. There will be radical changes to how Islam is disseminated and propagated throughout the internet. I am revamping some Islamic sites which haven’t been updated for some time, consolidating the network and researching new information to refute the polemical lies that the enemies of Islam are launching against the deen. Please do make du’a for this success, insha’allah.

On the occasion of 1st Muharram 1430H which falls today, I would like to take the opportunity to wish a joyous and happy 1430H Awwal Muharram (or Maal Hijrah, the Muslim New Year) to all Muslims who are reading my blog as well as to the whole Muslim ummah around the world.
Some background information in order to understand its significance.
Maal Hijrah, which is also called Awwal Muharam, is an important day for Muslim. It falls on the first day of Muharam on every Muslim calendar year, which is the first day on Muslim calendar.
The meaning of Maal Hijrah in English is “migration”. On this day, Muslims remember the migration of the Prophet Muhammad (P) from Makkah to Medina on the year 622 A.D. Maal Hijrah also symbolically signifies a change from bad to good side and can be said as a starting point to evaluate inner-self on self-achievement.
Awwal means “beginning” in English and Muharram is the first month of Muslim calendar. In other words, this is the first day in Muslim calendar. Therefore, this is also the new year for all Muslims. To signify this occasion, Muslims attend to various religious activities, spiritual singing, and religious meeting throughout the country. This day has become an important religious day for all Muslims.
