Critical Thoughts

I wonder whether it has come across in the minds of those who like to bitch about the Islamic authorities in the country that incidents like these, unfortunate as they may be, stem from their inner Islamophobia and utter hatred and mistrust of Islam and the Islamic court system? Islam Liberals are no exception to the rule, either. After all, if the person in question had never been a Muslim in the first place, why not let the due process of the law take over to prove it?

If someone were to ask me, “are Muslims extremists”, my answer now would be an emphatic YES! But certainly not in the negative connotations that people associate with “extremism”. Dr. Zakir Naik gave a good answer on why we Muslims are “extremists”:

They ask me the definitions of jihad, fundamentalist, terrorist and extremist. When people ask me if Muslims are extremists, I tell them yes. We are extremely honest, extremely loving, and extremely just.

In light of the above, then yes, I am proud to say that I am an “extremist”.

I received a copy of the draft press statement which would be released by PEMBELA (Muslim Organisations in Defence of Islam) in a few hours time (specifically, at 12pm today). Since this is only a draft copy I will only be posting the full version at House of Ideas once the official version is out. However, I find that they share my concerns regarding this Hindu extremist terrorist organisation which call themselves HINDRAF.
