    Quoted in The Edge Daily

I was trying out the new search engine Bing from Microsoft and by serendipity, I came across this news report from The Edge Malaysia. Seems that I was quoted in this report from a blog post of mine, under my kunya Ibn Juferi. A bit miffed that they should do that, however, as my name on the internet had, is and always will be, MENJ. The report was months ago but I only saw it today. I wonder why I never came across it when utilising Google?

Apart from that, I feel flattered that I should be chosen for some 5 minutes of fame Quoted in The Edge Daily

    I am still colourful

Digging through the (now defunct) Project Petaling Street Blog, I came across a mention of yours truly. When the statement was first made, it garnered such unwarranted controversy that I decided to remove it. Not because I did not want to stand by what I had said, but because I find that Malaysians’ reaction to the statement silly, emotionally hamstrung and bordered on immaturity. The fact that Pak Lah was at the height of his popularity did not help my cause either.

Four years later, the batik/nyonya kebaya/songket fiasco is long dead and buried and Pak Lah has resigned retired in disgrace. Nobody talks or cares about Endon anymore either. So much for the flak that I received back in 2005. Poetic justice?

    Pak Lah era sees closure

    Pak Lah era sees closure

Never thought that this day would come but to sum up the feelings about it in one word: relieved. It was never a good idea to put up a career civil servant with a perchance for sleeping during meetings as Prime Minister anyway. I’ll bet that even my dad can do a better job as PM if that were the case. I wonder how am I going to answer if, twenty years from now, my children were to ask me what was the single greatest achievement of Tun Abdullah Badawi?

    Not a new problem

Came across this today in Malaysiakini:

New Straits Times and the Star headlined Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s displeasure over the services of KTM Komuter and LRT as both services do not meet expectations of its users. He used the KTM Komuter services from Serdang to KL Sentral where he switched to LRT before disembarking at the Masjid Jamek LRT station.

This is not a new problem. The deplorable state of our public transportation has been going on for years now. I am surprised that he has to actually experience this himself for him to know about it. You don’t have to play football to watch live football matches and its the same when it comes to knowledge about the state of public transportation. Has he not been doing his homework?
