    Suara Malaysia is mine

SuaraMalaysia.com is now officially mine. If you have been around the Malaysian blogosphere long enough, you would know that it used to belong to a militant atheist keling with strong secularist tendencies. I’d rather not talk more about the previous owner who (ab)used this domain in the past because I think that the past is the past and besides, whatever influence he had back then (and he had aplenty) is now lost in time. Fast forward to today, I purchased the domain a few days ago for USD $60 and long story short, the site Suara Malaysia will be the place for me to republish my old and latest feature articles related to Malaysia and Malaysian issues.

In any case, I’ll be tracking down and republishing articles which I used to write for various media publications since 2004. I will also start writing new articles which deals with current issues that Malaysia is facing today. Perhaps I will also delve into my own ideology and vision for Malaysia, while offering solutions to the malaise that the country is in at the moment. Perhaps there will be people out there who will share my vision and hope for a better Malaysia, with Islam at its core.

    Hindraf are the extremists

I am a bit disturbed by the actions of Hindraf as of late (and no, I am not referring to the memorandum they delivered to Pak Lah when they gate-crashed the party for Eid Fitri). One particular incident which bothers me as a long-time blogger (I have been blogging since 2003) is how they had made a fuss over an obscure posting by a relatively unknown blogger who made racist remarks against Indians. Now, I am not excusing the particular blogger in question for those remarks which I think is stereotypical and uncalled for. Labelling any racial group as “thieves” or “robbers” is simply just unacceptable. But had Hindraf not made so much silly noises about the blog post and left the blogger alone, the issue would not even have surfaced in the first place. And for my part, I have seen many anti-Islam and hate-incitement towards the Muslims in Malaysia, should I go around making police reports for each and every one of them?

So while I do not condone any racist remarks from any person, I certainly dislike the actions taken by this extremist group called Hindraf to make a fuss out of a minor issue of racism.
