A long time ago, some 6 years back at least…I was a heavy proponent of a WordPress theme called “Squible”. Back then, WordPress was version 1.5 and the theme functions were considered ahead of its time, considering that features such as tagging and asides were not native back then. Sadly the developers of the theme lost interest soon after and the theme disappeared from the face of the web.
Fortunately the screenshots of the theme was still lying around. I have been thinking about a new concept for ittaqullah.org and since the Squible theme is pretty much dead and gone by now, why not ask a designer to rip-off the theme design to make it my own? There will of course be some fundamental changes to the design aspect but the layout might remain the same.
I will have to give further thought to this.

Finally it is done and major change has come to this blog. I don’t have to spell it out for you because the “change” is pretty much obvious. Like anything new, there are bound to be some quirks and hiccups in functionality. Some other features (such as the MyBlogLog counter) is missing as well. This will be fixed in the coming days.

As mentioned in its sister blog, here is the proposed new custom WordPress design for Critical Thoughts. If I were to choose a name for it, I would probably call it “Islamic Activist theme” for WordPress. I decided to go for a minimalist look and reduce the ads drastically. And yes, the logo is going to be a standard feature for a majority of my websites/blog for years to come.
I like the green, don’t you?

Memoirs is a 2-column theme for WordPress which is coded with valid XHTML and CSS, widgets-ready and comes with a combination of blue/yellow/green colours to give it an overall clean look. It would be great for a personal journal or as a business blog.

The gall of some people to refer (indirectly, I might add — probably the person in question has no balls) to yours truly as a “splogger”. I do not like to brag or sound arrogant, but I would think that at least there would be a significant portion of readers and bloggers alike who know that I have been pinging to PPS since time immemorial and I have certainly always obeyed PPS 7-minute rule, with the exception of the multiple pings that WordPress sometimes causes — a technical issue totally beyond my control. It happens to almost every WordPress user that I know and nobody has complained about the “spam” — until this moron pounced on the issue when it happened to me because he did not like the subject matter in question.
