I am astounded…truly astounded, that this person can actually get away with saying something like this:
Mr Zainuddin [Maidin, Malaysian Information Minister] insisted that while the younger generation are tech-savvy, they tend to believe newspaper reports over comments made on the Internet, China Press reported.
He added that the Internet is used mainly to book budget airline tickets or to get entertainment news.
What??!! I earn my RM2K+ a month from doing this?

Seriously. When I listened to that clip on YouTube of that interview between him and Al-Jazeera, once it was over I was totally speechless at the end of it. Not because he explained his side of the story well, but because he totally made a fool of himself with his broken English and lack of understanding regarding the situation on the ground. He even contradicted himself in several parts of the interview. In the end, I do not know who was more embarrassed: the journalist conducting the interview with him or yours truly for having a moron like this as Information Minister.
And I still wonder what was the criteria that got him into the Cabinet in the first place, or even standing for a seat in Parliament.
You can read the original press statement by PEMBELA / ACCIN here. It seems that some bloggers are already commenting on the press statement by relying on a second-hand report by Malaysiakini which, by the way, does not furnish the full details. Sadly, these people have misconstrued the main points of the press statement by the two largest Islamic NGO coalitions in the country and have started their “spin” about it…or what ZAM would refer to as goblok bloggers. Not that I agree with ZAM in the first place, but he sure does have a point about these goblok bloggers who take things out of context instead of reading the actualpress statement by PEMBELA / ACCIN.
And if I can find the time, I will most certainly translate the press statement so that the Liberals will not try to take it out of context and spin the meaning of it and delude those who do not read Bahasa Melayu very well.
