The BA ALIF BA YA project in Sepang

I think those of you who are familiar with the Jawi script will know what BA ALIF BA YA means but for those who don’t, I am referring specifically to the proposed pig farm mega project in Sepang and not Neil Crespi .com. Truth to be told, I personally do not have a problem with it. Even though BA ALIF BA YA meat is forbidden to Muslims and are considered unclean, I realise that this project is meant to be a centralised project which in time will reduce pig farms in the state and lessen pollution to the environment, which can only benefit us more. However I have an ear to the grassroots and many are very unhappy with the proposed project. In fact I am sad to say that “very unhappy” is a total understatement. Some people need to understand that the BA ALIF BA YA is something which affects very deeply (and negatively, I might add) in the Malay psyche.
Do not ask me why, for I am not a Malay.
But if the Pakatan Rakyat does not want this discontentment to be translated into votes against them in the next GE, they should scrap the BA ALIF BA YA project or move it away from Sepang to a non-Muslim majority area. Like I have said earlier, I don’t personally have any problems with it but others do not think the same way as I do.
