The letter that ruined our claim for Pulau Batu Putih

May 24th, 2008

Frankly I don’t know who to blame for the loss of sovereignty over Pulau Batu Putih (or is it “Pedra Branca” now?):

  • The good-for-nothing Encik Jellyfish currently sleeping in Putrajaya?
  • The legal team which represented Malaysia for the claim over Pulau Batu Putih?

Or the idiot who wrote the stupid letter below, dated 21st September 1953, disowning any claim over the island? Read the letter for yourself, I am too disgusted at the moment to say anything else about it.

  1. yes it is true that johor government do not claim ownership to the rock but it is not the Malaysian government… Johor may not claim ownership but Malaysia is not saying anything, even if Johor does not claim ownership of the rock, but still, Johor cannot act as the spokeperson for Malaysia… It is just a state belongs to Malaysia… So the dispute is that although Johor state does not recognise the rock as part of Johor, the government of Malaysia still consider it as part of Malaysia…

But anyway the ICJ has already give the verdict and we have to accept the decision… Just accept the decision and move on and may Iskandar Malaysia suffer the same faith as Pulau Batu Putih…

  2. personally, i have not much info about batu putih rock other than its known as just rock but not an island. i feel that there’s nothing much can be done on that island (correct me if im wrong) but just the matter of dignity on the ownership of that place.
